Easy going start - off to Freycinet National Park - long 3 hr. drive on the "wrong" side of the road. Beautiful park! We went to Cape Tourville Light, Sleepy Bay Beach, Honeymoon Bay (had a picnic lunch here), and Wineglass Bay Lookout. Saw the first wallaby of the trip. It was willing to let us get close for photos. Another long ride back and dinner at the hotel.

Today we went to Tasman National Park. We saw wave carved Phenomena like the Blow Hole, Devil's Kitchen, and Tasman Arch. Next we went to Fortescue Bay. After walking across the beach, the path went up into the woods along the edge of the bay. We ended at Canoe Bay where we had lunch near a sunken ship the William Pitt. It was sunk to make a mooring for boats. Then we went to the Tasmanian Devil Park. This impressive facility rescues breeds, and researches Tas. Devils. In addition they have other Tasmanian Animals in a well-planned environmennt. We wandered into a large field filled with free-roaming kangaroos. We were able to pat and feed them. Also watched Devils crunching bones and playing. We finished the day watching a birds in flight show with different Australian hookbills and raptors. A wild kookaburra came and sat on the hawk's perch during his performance. A beautiful sunset lit our trip back to the motel.

Away from the coast - we go inlandtoday - to Mt. Field National Park. From the visitor center we hiked a long circuit combining 4 walks - Russell Falls, Horseshoe Falls, Tall Trees, and Lady Barron Falls. Saw a wallaby and a pademelon. We went to an animal park to see platypusses and koalas, but it was closed. Had a beer at Australia's oldest continuouslylicensed hotel (bar). Picked up dinner at one of many "take - aways".

Today we were off to a chocolaty start at the Cadbury Factory. Visitors are not allowed in the factory but we had a well-done, interesting tour with demonstrations, video, and tasting. All the while, Cadbury chocolate was, sigh, forced upon us. At the end we went into the store and bought more. From there we drove to Hobart to the Cascade Brewery. We passed on the $20 tour of the brewery. Next off to find the Moo Brew brewery. We ended up doing an extensive wine tasting at their winery instead. We didn't like them at all! Got lunch, went back and packed for tomorrow's flight back to Sydney.
